04 · Same photo

Same photo. Different story.

Two listings, two names, two prices. Watch each photo turn into its fingerprint, and the two fingerprints line up.

05 · Titles lie

Titles lie. Photos don’t.

Every comparison site matches on words. Edit these two real titles and watch the words drift while the photos stay identical.

06 · The fingerprint

A photo, as 64 bits.

Five steps, running in your browser on a real listing. Scroll and watch the photo become its fingerprint.

01 / 05The photoAs the seller uploaded it. Usually the supplier's own shot, unchanged.
02 / 05GreyscaleColour is the first thing a reseller changes. Shape is not.
03 / 05Border trimmedShops pad photos onto white by different amounts, so a uniform border is cropped.
04 / 0532 × 32Shrunk to a tiny square, so only the overall structure is left.
05 / 0564 bitsEach low-frequency detail becomes a 1 or a 0. This is the fingerprint we compare.
It runs in your browser. Your photo never leaves this tab.
07 · The line

You set the line.

08 · Say it like a person

Say it like a person.

Your sentence becomes requirements, each one snapping into place. Anything we can't check is shown, never quietly dropped.

09 · Cheapest that fits

The cheapest one is usually the wrong one.

Every candidate on one line. The cheapest fails something you asked for, so the light moves to the one that fits. Switch a requirement off and watch it move.

10 · Why it's better

Why it’s better than Google Shopping.

Three things a shopping search doesn't do, and we do on every answer.

Mountaineering Leisure And Tactical High-Capacity Backpack For Men And WomenLarge-capacity Commuter Outdoor Travel Backpack
01

We match the photo, not the title.

Sellers rename the same product a hundred ways. They almost never change the photo, so that is what we compare.

Instead: Shopping search matches the words and the product codes, so renamed copies look like different things.

02

We show the cheapest that fits.

The cheapest listing is often the wrong one: wrong country, over budget. We gate on what you asked for, then sort by price.

Instead: Shopping search sorts by relevance and ads, and leaves you to check each requirement yourself.

0fit every requirementand here is what came closest, and why
03

We say when nothing does.

If nothing meets every requirement, you get a clear no and what came closest, instead of a page of near misses.

Instead: Shopping search always shows something, close or not, so a near miss looks like an answer.

20 · Our promises

What we promise.

The honest comparison is the only thing we sell. These are the rules, and the questions people ask first.

  1. 01No paid placementNo seller can pay to rank. Not now, not later.
  2. 02No checkout, no stockWe send you to the seller. We never sit in the middle of your money.
  3. 03Every commission disclosedWhere a link can earn us something, it says so, and it never changes the order.
  4. 04Every number measuredIf we did not measure it, we say so instead of estimating it.

How does Vesim know two listings are the same product?

Vesim matches the product photograph rather than the barcode, brand or title. Resellers do not photograph their own stock — they upload the supplier's media pack unchanged — so the identical image file appears on every listing of the same object. Each photograph is reduced to a 64-bit perceptual hash and listings within 10 bits of Hamming distance are treated as the same object. Measured on 60 real product photographs: 98% recall with zero false matches across 1,762 true negative pairs.

Why not just match on the barcode like other comparison sites?

Most goods sold online have no GTIN or barcode, particularly unbranded goods sold by many resellers. Those are exactly the products with the largest price spreads, so barcode matching fails precisely where comparison would be most valuable.

What does 'cheapest that fits' mean?

The lowest price among sellers that satisfy every measurable constraint you gave. It is distinct from 'cheapest anywhere', which may be lower but violates one of them — for example by shipping from a country you excluded. Vesim shows both, names the reason the cheaper one does not qualify, and will return nothing at all rather than hand back a near-miss.

Does Vesim sell anything?

No. Vesim holds no stock and handles no checkout. Every link goes to the seller. Some outbound links earn an affiliate commission, which is disclosed on every page carrying them and never affects the order results appear in.

How much of the market has Vesim indexed?

Vesim is built to search millions of products, and it is early days: one catalogue is connected today, with 376 products from 387 listings, fingerprinted and compared across 74,691 pairs. Comparison across different stores, the thing the product is for, arrives as each network connects. Adapters for eBay, Amazon, Walmart and AliExpress are written and tested, and are waiting on credentials rather than on engineering.

What can Vesim not do yet?

No connected source returns delivery dates, so arrival constraints are reported as 'not measured' rather than estimated. Discount codes are not available. Price history does not exist yet, because it cannot be backfilled and the first daily snapshot has not run. And a matching photograph is strong evidence of the same object but is not proof of an identical pack size or revision, which is why both images are always shown.

What leaves my device when I check a photo?

Only the fingerprint: 64 bits, computed in your browser. The photo itself is never uploaded when you drop or paste an image. When you paste a link, our server reads that public page to find its product photo, then the same 64-bit fingerprint is compared against the index.
